List Making for Success

The Power Of List Making

Within our roles of wife, mother, businesswoman, daughter, cook, housekeeper, baby sitter, psychologist, mediator, trust me, I can go on forever ......Who has the time to organize? Right?

WELL....... We all have the same 24 hours in a day. But why do some seem to crush it, and others are barely keeping up? It's all about time management.

Time management increases your productivity and decreases your stress. Period!

I'm here to tell you that List making is the powerful sidekick of time management.

It allows you to write and visualize your tasks, and the big takeaway...... it allows you to prioritize them.

Writing your list and prioritizing it alerts you to what needs your immediate attention and what you can leave until a later date.

Here are three simple steps to get you started.

  • Write your to-do list on paper. I know most of us have a ton of things to accomplish, but don't overwhelm yourself. Instead, choose 3-5 to-do's you need to complete over the next week. You may even have two to-do lists—one for the kids and one for your personal. Be realistic.

  • Prioritize your list. Which to-do needs to be done 1st? And which can wait for a day or two.

  •  Take action and check it off when it's completed. Accomplishments should be noted.

RULE OF THUMB: If a task takes 5 minutes to complete, don't add it to your to-do list; just do it!

Having a smaller to-do list will set you up for small wins that will uplift your confidence and encourage you to keep moving forward.
