6 Inspirational Books For Women To Read In 2019

Hard to believe that we are at the end of January already.  Yes, our goals and To-Do lists are full but finding time to read fills our soul.  My favorite books are personal development as they leave you with positive takeaways and autobiographies which are filled with little tidbits of wisdom.

There is nothing like curling up with a warm blanket, a cup of hot coffee/tea, and a good book.  It always leaves me refreshed and ready to take on the world.

Below are 6 inspirational books for women to read in 2019.  These books are inspirational, informative and will make you wanna step your game up for sure!

1. In The Company of Women - Grace Bonney

I started reading In The Company of Women in 2018.  It's filled with short stories of successful female entrepreneurs who are trailblazers.  They all tell their unique stories thru a question and answer format regarding what inspired them and how they followed their dreams.  I currently read this book one story at a time,  as each story leaves me in Awe!

2. Becoming Michelle Obama - Michelle Obama

My niece gave me this book for Christmas and I can't wait to crack the spine.  Becoming is the autobiographical memoir of the former First Lady. In her own words, she writes about her childhood, college years and the road that lead her to be the first African American First Lady of the United States of America.  How's that for Inspiration!

3. Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear - Elizabeth Gilbert

Elizabeth Gilbert is an amazing writer who has the ability to make you think that she's talking directly to you......seriously!  This book has grabbed my soul like no other.  She explains why we have fears of living our best life, how to overcome them, and how unique creativity is.  She hit the head on the nail with this book and I dare you to not be inspired!

4. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

I started reading 7 habits in 2018 and recently completed it.  This book is world renowned with selling over 25 million copies and printed in over 40 languages.   Stephen R. Covey talks about personal grown, struggles and characteristics we should be aware of when trying to be your best self.  These habits have nothing to do with the amount of money you have or earn, it all depends on the kind of person you are and who you want to be.  Thought provoking and a great read!!

5. The Bestie Code - C. Renee Mangum, TaVonna Symphony, Emma Sheree

This book was sent to me by 3 lovely ladies who are co-authors.  I honestly chose this book because once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down.   This book is an authentic, realistic, hilarious and detailed account of how three adult women from different walks of life bonded through the good, the bad, the ugly.  It's relatable and real.  They write about what a healthy friendship with your girlfriends should look like and how it starts from within.

6. Year of Yes - Shonda Rhimes

This book came highly recommended as Shonda Rhimes writes about how her life changed when she started to say yes to everything that scared her.  How would I manage if I said yes to everything?  I'm not sure but as Shonda writes, it was a gamechanger and transformed her life beyond what she could imagine.

Happy Reading,

Share this post and let me know what book you're currently reading or would recommend.  I would love to know!
